The sensor has no moving parts and a plug-in design, so it can be installed on or removed from an existing pipeline without stopping the flow. It uses low-frequency square-wave excitation and has low pressure loss. Full-scale flow velocity can be set anywhere from 1 to 10 m/s. Standard outputs are 0-10 mA or 4-20 mA DC and a 1-5 kHz frequency signal. The sensor is mounted to the pipe through a mounting base, ball valve, compression nut and positioning screw. It is available as a measuring-tube type for clean media or a flat-electrode type for liquids containing impurities.
